Russia expands construction waste recycling infrastructure
Projects for the processing, recycling and disposal of construction waste are being developed in several regions. In the Arkhangelsk region, a plant with an annual capacity of 80,000 tonnes is expected to begin operations soon.
The project in the Saratov region is scheduled to launch in 2027 with a planned capacity of 120,000 tonnes per year. The facility will produce recycled crushed stone, scrap metal and recultivant (a dry mixture made from processed waste fractions). Over the same period, Udmurtia plans to launch a facility for recycling glass and construction waste using low-temperature pyrolysis technology.
In Bashkortostan, the production of recycled crushed stone is expected to begin by 2028, while Chuvashia plans to open a construction waste recycling complex by 2030.
Similar projects are planned in the Sverdlovsk oblast, the Nenets Autonomous Area, Tatarstan and Perm Krai. Another major project in the Kirov region will produce laminated chipboard from recycled raw materials with an annual capacity of 462,000 tonnes.
