Nizhnekamsk and Bareilly launch municipal partnership
Nizhnekamsk in Russia and Bareilly in India have signed a sister-city agreement. The document was concluded in India during a meeting of the Association of Cities and Municipalities of the BRICS countries.
The cooperation is expected to open new opportunities for the exchange of experience in education, culture and municipal governance.
During the event, Radmir Belyaev, head of the Nizhnekamsk district, was elected chairman of the Association’s digitalisation committee, to drive access to international best practices and enable their application in urban infrastructure development.
A second agreement was signed, through which the Association of Volga Region Cities and the All-India Institute of Local Self-Government will develop a partnership focused on the exchange of managerial solutions and the implementation of effective practices in municipalities.
Earlier reports also noted that the launch of a new mentoring system in the BRICS countries could give an additional impetus to youth entrepreneurship.
