Russia and India join forces to boost innovation
The Skolkovo Foundation and key Indian development institutions are set to work together to support innovators in both countries. During the international Startup Village 2024 conference, held at Skolkovo from 5 to 7 September, the foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation in research, technology, and innovation with two Indian partners: the Pune Science and Technology Park and the Technology Business Incubator Foundation (AIC-SMUTBI).
Stanislav Voloshin, Deputy Chairman of the Board for International Cooperation and Special Projects at the Skolkovo Foundation, stated, “Cooperation with the Pune Science and Technology Park and AIC-SMUTBI provides additional opportunities for collaboration on research, technology, and infrastructure projects, mutual soft landing, localisation, and the piloting of high-tech companies in areas such as telecommunications, satellite communications, digitalisation of public administration, and urban environment.”
The partners aim to strengthen business contacts between their enterprises and leading Russian innovators in the small and medium enterprises sector, expand access to innovative Russian technologies and products, and support companies entering the Russian and Indian markets.
Rajendra Jagdale, Director General and CEO of Pune Science and Technology Park, noted that collaborating with the foundation would create opportunities for Indian and Russian tech startups and SMEs to operate in each other’s countries, either independently or as joint ventures.
