Yes, all outward remittances, including foreign remittances for education, are subject to the Reserve Bank of India’s Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) and any other applicable regulatory limits in force at the time of the transaction. Additionally, the Bank or its AD II partner may set their own transaction limits based on internal policies, operational procedures, or risk considerations.
Under the RBI’s Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS), a resident individual can remit up to the permissible annual limit (e.g. USD 250,000 or as notified). Within this limit, there are no restrictions on frequency, but the purpose and documentation must align with RBI regulations.
Yes. As per Indian income tax regulations, Tax Collected at Source (TCS) may apply on outward remittances under LRS. The applicable rate depends on the purpose and value of the transaction. Students and remitters are advised to refer to the latest TCS guidelines.
Refunds are initiated by the university/college in accordance with its policies. Once the institution returns the funds, Sberbank will credit this amount to the INR account specified by the university. Foreign exchange charges may apply.

No, late payment charges are not applied. However, any currency fluctuations resulting from delays caused by the student/remitter—such as submitting incomplete documentation—will be solely the responsibility of the student/remitter.
The remitter is required to transfer funds from an Indian bank account in INR to the AD II partner using UPI, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, or online banking.
No. Visa guidance, processing, and sponsorship fall outside the scope of services provided by Sberbank India and its AD II partners.
Accommodation search is not offered by Sberbank. Students should contact university housing offices or independent accommodation agencies in Russia.
