India plans to use Sber’s GigaChat across several sectors
Speaking at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Nara Lokesh, minister for human resources development, information technology, electronics and communications of Andhra Pradesh, outlined several areas for potential cooperation with Sber. According to the minister, the state government has approached the bank regarding the possible implementation of these solutions.
Cybersecurity is also under discussion. Sber could help strengthen the security of India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) network through technologies such as voice recognition and biometric anti-fraud systems.
Another area for possible cooperation is support for Indian exporters of pharmaceutical and agricultural products. The minister said Andhra Pradesh had approached Sber regarding credit lines for companies operating in these sectors.
